You’re invited to stop by for our spring tour at RainFresh Harvests on Saturday, May 10th.

See how clean energy is being used to grow crops year-round, off-the-grid in a biointegrated greenhouse that is powered by renewable energy.

You will be able to see solar photovoltaic panels and a wind turbine that produce electricity, as well as a solar thermal system for heating.  Also featured are aquaponics, vermicomposting and other sustainable agriculture practices.

This spring marks 3 years of operation of the renewable energy systems and the 2nd full winter of operation for the passive solar greenhouse. 

We will be having informal tours, between 9 am to 2 pm and will be available to answer your questions about how the system operates.

Thanks to all of the support by customers that are asking for fresh locally grown food, we have expanded production each year trying to keep up with this demand.  Our primary outlets are Northstar Café and Whole Foods, so please cast your food votes by supporting them.  We supply Northstar year-round with fresh herbs.  Our sales to Whole Foods are generally from May through November, when we have sufficient quantities to keep our display rack stocked.  Hopefully we will be growing enough this year to expand even further. 

We are cutting back on the plant sales and there will only be a very limited selection of herbs this spring. (Basil, Stevia and Cilantro @$2.35 per 3 inch containers from MillCreek Gardens.)

Since parking is limited, if possible, please car pool.
